For some years IBM have offered Service and Education vouchers when purchasing IBM POWER with i/OS.  As these were not available to systems that had been upgraded, often these are forgotten when a new system is purchased.  With POWER7 having so few upgrades, in most instances Clients will be able to claim the vouchers.  Please see the following URL http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/hardware/vouchers/index.html

  • IBM i Performance Assessment and Knowledge Transfer

    This service includes analysis of system wide performance data focused not only on machine setup but also the applications running on your system. This service uses performance tools to review a variety of factors such as memory pool management, disk utilization, CPU analysis, Java and database settings.

  • DB2® SQL/Query Performance Assessment

    This service assesses the use of SQL in client server and IBM i applications as well as a review of memory pool and subsystem setup. The service also includes an assessment of the overview of the SQL environment and discusses the enablement of query optimization techniques.

  • Getting Started with DB2 Web Query for IBM i

    The service offering will help you get started with developing and running reports using DB2 Web Query. IBM experts will help you install the software, create and import meta data, help you import query/400 definitions and assist you in building reports using report and/or graphing assistant components.

  • Getting started with IBM i and BladeCenter®

    This service provides assistance in getting started with IBM i and BladeCenter. The service may include assistance in the install of BladeCenter hardware, performing firmware updates, or installing VIOS and network configuration.

  • Getting Started with BladeCenter and System x® Solutions for IBM i

    This service will help get your company’s Integrated BladeCenter and System x environment up and running quickly. The service can be applied towards the installation of an iSCSI attached BladeCenter or System x server solution.The service will include installation of IBM Director on IBM i and creation of configuration objects on the IBM i side. Installation of the customer-acquired Microsoft® Windows ServerTM operating system on the Blade or System x server will be included.

  • Getting Started with IBM Systems Director

    This service is designed to help you get started with IBM Systems Director server. This service will include aiding in installation on a designated IBM Power System server (AIX®, Linux®), IBM BladeCenter (Intel® or Power Blade), or an IBM System x server This server will be used to demonstrate various systems management functions and features over a small sample of selected client systems. A working demo of IBM Systems Director will be in place after this service offering is complete.

  • Getting Started with Secure Perspective for IBM i

    This service will help you with the deployment of Secure Perspective on your IBM i. This includes installing the product, setting up the administrative users and controlled systems, brainstorming access control policies, and demonstrating how to use the tool.

  • Getting Started with AIX with IBM i for Power Systems

    This service will provide assistance in using an AIX partition on Power Systems that will allow IBM i customers to explore the possibilities of AIX running alongside IBM i.

  • Getting Started with Linux with IBM i for Power Systems

    This service will provide assistance in using a Linux partition on Power Systems that will allow IBM i customers to explore the possibilities of Linux running alongside IBM i.

  • Getting Started with WebSphere® with IBM i for Power Systems

    This service will get your company started utilizing a WebSphere Application Server on IBM i. The service can be used to help validate an initial installation or utilize some of the more advanced features that Websphere has to offer such as Websphere portal, Websphere Network deployment or Websphere Security.

  • Migration Assistance

    This service will assist you in migrating from older IBM hardware to new IBM hardware.

  • SAP Quick Install for IBM i

    This service provides assistance in SAP on IBM i installation services. Our SAP NetWeaver on IBM i expert will lay down the operating system, database and an SAP system landscape, pre-built by SAP labs, pre-verified by SAP on IBM i experts, and all delivered as a bundled solution via tape. Upon restoring the bundle, the landscape will be ready for you to begin customizing your SAP solution.

  • IBM i Security HealthCheck Assessment

    This service is to perform a technical security analysis for one partition. The service will help you investigate powerful user profiles, password practices, and the use of group profiles. The service will also examine the use of adopted authority and authorization lists, communications and TCP/IP exposures, current system value settings, and sensitive output queues and/or job queues.

  • Getting Started with Zend and MySQL on IBM i

    The service offering will help you get prepared to develop and run applications based on PHP and MySQL on IBM i. The service will include items such as installing PHP and MySQL on IBM i, including Zend Core for IBM i, Zend Studio for IBM i on one client, and MySQL for IBM i on one server. In addition to installing the software, the service includes running sample PHP applications that get data out of DB2 for IBM i and MySQL for IBM i.

  • IBM i Availability HealthCheck

    The service offering will conduct a IBM i Availability HealthCheck which is an analysis of a customer’s IBM i IT infrastructure for potential areas of exposure as well as a review of their system management processes for adherence to best practices. The intent is to identify significant risks and provide recommendations to help mitigate those risks.

  • IBM i BRMS Assessment

    The BRMS assessment service will provide an analysis for tuning BRMS on your IBM i environment. The BRMS settings including policies, control groups, network setup, logs and others will be reviewed.

  • External storage and PowerHA for IBM i

    This service will provide planning and high-level design services to review the considerations for effectively attaching IBM TotalStorage DS6000 or DS8000 to IBM i so as to achieve optimal performance and redundancy. IBM will also describe the use of PowerHA with Copy Services (Flash Copy, Metro Mirror, and Global Mirror) as it relates to enhanced backup, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery solutions. Topics of discussion may include the logical storage configuration, virtualization of disk, locating the Load Source Unit in external storage, multi-path support, SAN switch zoning, independent Auxiliary Storage Pools (IASP), and deployment of PowerHA for IBM i.

    This course is designed for IBM i professionals whose responsibilities include performance analysis and tuning for IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM i based solutions.
