Having spent  months informing Clients that support of V5R4 of i/OS ends in April 2012, IBM have now announced that this has been extended to September 2012.

Whilst excellent news which will provide more time for Clients to plan their upgrades to V6R1 and V7R1, IBM have announced that effective 27th May 2011 both POWER6 V5R4 systems and V5R4 licensed programs are removed from marketing and not purchasable.

If you have any questions how this affects you or woud like to discuss your i/OS upgrades please contact Nigel Gillespie @ nigel.gillespie@applied-tech.co.uk.
