Just a quick word of warning if you plan on using an IOPless LVD SCSI adapter to support an LTO drive at V5R4, it does not work too well! Whilst not a problem for HSL systems as you can just add an IOP and locate in a suitable location, for configurations that do not support IOP’s this is a problem. Whilst IBM state that certain drives are supported we had difficulties with Option 21 saves. I would recommend either a FC connection or an internal LTO drive.
